Anansi The Spider

MotherLand Stories

When I started tutoring pre-Kindergarten African American kids, I realized that out of the hundreds of books that were available, there were only three or four that had African inspired stories. Instead of complaining, I reacted with these productions. I hope to make more soon. I enjoy storytelling.

Anansi the Spider vs Brother Death

The Anansi stories originate from the Ashanti people of Ghana. The Ashanti carried these stories with them to the Caribbean, and as a result they have stood the test of time. Especially in places like Jamaica.

Anansi is considered the King of Stories, the jokester, a master of trickery, and a teacher of traditions.
